I don't care if I spoil it for myself this weekend, but Kimi's in it so I'm gonna obsessively track his performance. Teehee. Loeb vs Kimi. Okay, the result's kinda a little too far to be a challenge for Loeb.

For the pre-event Shakedown, Loeb leads the way with Dani Sordo. Kimi's uh, unfortunately down in 20th. Latvala, who has been asked to stay with Ford for one more year (that's the last if he doesn't buckup, I'm expecting), is down in 8th, while teammate Mikko is 6.

He can't possibly compete with Loeb when he's driving an Abarth Punto S2000. I'm keeping my computer on through to this evening for the updates from Rally Radio.

Okay, but it seemed he enjoyed himself and the engine was having a little issue. Damaged his car too badly that he cant get it repaired in time for the 3rd day.

It was a big engine problem - it was down on power because one of the cylinders had blown and wasn't compressing properly. The starter motor was also changed and the sump guard took a hit. He wasn't sure whether he was going to make it to the end.

However he was on track for 3rd place in his class, and fending off Patrick Flodin well in spite of the problems. Very impressive, and there were lots of Rally Radio listeners because of him.

I'm very happy that Mikko Hirvonen has won the rally and that Martin Prokop has (mathematically) sealed the JWRC championship.
